Tummy Tuck
Whether you’re unhappy with your abdominal area after pregnancy or weight loss, or are challenged with with excess skin and fat in that area, talk with Dr. Wright to find out if an abdominoplasty or “tummy tuck” could be a good solution for you.
Tummy tucks remove extra skin and fat, and tighten the muscles in the abdomen to improve your waistline. Liposuction is also used to remove the fat in love handles. As with all procedures that he performs, Dr. Wright will take the time to make sure you have all the information and answers you need before you decide to move forward.
Is a tummy tuck right for you?
If you’re troubled by extra skin and fat around your abdomen, and you are not a smoker, a tummy tuck could be a good solution for you. If you smoke, Dr. Wright can share about alternative procedures that will help you look and feel better about your abdominal area.
What to expect before, during and after a tummy tuck…
Dr. Wright performs his surgeries only at accredited surgery centers and in hospitals’ operating suites. Before your surgery, an anesthesiologist will give you the proper amount of anesthesia, and that doctor will remain throughout the procedure to make certain you stay completely comfortable.
The incisions for this surgery will be around the belly button and at your waistline, so Dr. Wright makes them with the utmost precision to minimize visible scarring. After he has removed the majority of skin and fat from below your belly button, he will take away more fat (sub-Scarpa’s fat) from above your belly button. He will then take off more fat where your new belly button will be, while tightening your rectus muscles. Finally, he’ll close the incisions in three layers and perform liposuction.
When you awaken from the procedure, you’ll be in an abdominal binder to support your abdominal area after surgery. You can expect to go home the same day after having a tummy tuck. That evening, Dr. Wright will personally call you to make sure you’re doing well and to answer any questions that you might have. He will see you in about one week after the procedure to take the drains out. One month after that, he’ll want to meet with you to check your recovery.
For your convenience, Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty) procedures can be paid for via credit cards and Care Credit.
